All of the Gen3 engines are essentially identical so it should be a direct plug-and-play swap. About the only real difference would be the throttle body (cable versus DBW) if you have a pre-'03 truck. There may be other small differences such as steam vent lines, emissions hoses and maybe injector plugs. But, between your stock setup and the LQ9, you should be able to drop it in and go once you have an LQ9 tune flashed in your PC
Ok so essentially I just need to buy the engine and swap over parts and get a tune. I have an 01 with cable throttle body so i might upgrade. I will assume the 4le60 will be alright with the 6.0. Its something i have wanted to do and I have 220k on my current 5.3. Thanks for the replyAll of the Gen3 engines are essentially identical so it should be a direct plug-and-play swap. YES!!!I'm working on a swap into my 03. Got an 05 6.0.
Lol. Was trying not to say anything until I was in the process or done, but I had a question about the 317 heads. Once the motor is in, gonna get a little more stuff done.YES!!!

Talked to my mechanic, he said there's no egr on it.Schweet! That should work well. I'm curious if it has EGR, hard to tell from this angle.
Yeah it would be on the passenger side manifold connecting to the intake. Its usually tuned out anyway.Talked to my mechanic, he said there's no egr on it.
