Hello - I have a 2012 Tahoe LT I bought used with 90K on it. About half the time I step on the gas from a stop, the engine pauses for a second before kicking in. The model I have has the feature that causes it to go down to 4 cylinders when you're not accelerating. I've seen devices you can buy that override this. Is that the cause of the stutter? Thanks, Wiley

V4 mode will eventually be the cause of either:
the torque converter clutch taking out the entire 6L80E
or
one of the V4 mode lifters failing somehow
or both.
separate from your issue, disable V4 mode asap. Delete V4 mode hardware when possible.
OK

You may simply need to do a tuneup. Under 100,000 miles, but look at how many years.
