My '00 Yukon Running Light sockets are all cracked and burned up. One still comes on but not very often. Anyone ever replaced the entire socket ?

Yep, it’s common. Salt country or not, doesn’t matter- they tend to burn up from being on constantly and using incandescent bulbs. Switch to LED after you change the sockets, they’re cool. A little dielectric grease helps too. Don’t use regular grease lol.

Yes, I agree, Bobby and Steve are a horrible pair. I would never, and I mean NEVER recommend them to anyone.... hooligans ....

Replaced both sockets with brand new ones still don't work must be in the wiring as the right use to come on but only once in a while for a short time. might replace the whole harness we will see. I'm only getting the DRL's to work so the headlights stay off during the day. Getting tired of pressing the over ride button all the time.
the drl running lights have nothing to do with the headlights, if your headlights are coming on in the day then you might have a bad sun sensor or it became disconnected or something.
And if the sunlight sensor is bad then the DRL’s won’t come on because the truck thinks it’s night all the time.

Yes. If your headlights are on in the daytime and your DRLs aren’t, that is probably the issue.

Removed the Radio lifted up part of the dash was able to remove that light sensor. looked up the P/N that was on it 15740822 many available from GM parts suppliers. listed as Ambient Temperature Sensor. Also listed as a Sundown light Sensor. Its a hard part to find nobody stocks them but can be ordered.

Ordered and installed another Light Sensor made no diff still have headlights coming on all the time.
Then it sounds like the problem is not the sensor it's self there may be a break in the harness somewhere, if you have a tech2 it can help you troubleshoot the problem, I would check the sensor harness and see if it is getting power, not sure what the voltage should be to the sensor it could be anything from 5v to 12v typically. the sensor is just a light activated microswitch so it probably runs on 5v (just guessing) is there anything else not working? could be on the same circuit, have you checked ALL of your fuses? only takes a minute with a meter

Actually yes I was getting the Low Wiper Fluid message so ordered a new GM fluid level sensor removed entire fluid bottle. even with fluid bottle removed the new sensor seal actually made it harder to install. Still getting the message every day. Have not checked any fuses but will now Thanks.
