DRL not working....

Ok. I know that there is probably some info on this forum on the Daytime Running Light issue. I have not had much luck finding it though....

So, I bought my 2000 Tahoe about a month ago. The DRL were working fine. The next day they stopped working and they haven't worked since? WTH? The bulbs look fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are the sockets melted/blackened? My bulbs were ok but the sockets were fried...

my DRL's are intermittent...and both sockets look fried...

I honestly haven't looked that close at the sockets....I just inspected the bulbs from the front. I will get into them later today to see what is going on. It appears the burnt sockets are a common issue.

If anyone can direct me to more info on fixing or converting the DRL I would greatly appreciate it

One of my sockets got burnt from a flaming bulb. I had to replace it with this worked great afterwards. The light bulbs get so hot in such a small housing, replacing them with LED's helps a lot. I got all six LED's for my bumper lights and two load resistors on Amazon for $40.00

So, I put new bulbs in the DRL. The sockets have gotten hot, I can see that pretty easy. But , they are still in working order.
Here's the kicker.....the lights still do not work? WTH???

Anything else I should look at? HELP :-/

So what LED buld did you get for your DRL? And what resistors?

i ended up putting in 4114LL's in my DRL's and so far so good (even with burnt sockets)

I got these for my DRL's, just because they were cheap and I needed LED's to match my angel eyes on my headlights. You only need load resistors for the turn signals, but they're a pain - go with a new flasher relay instead.

Other than that it's as easy as replacing the bulbs...

I'm looking for some superbright LED's for my reverse and DRL's. Since it's been a year since you posted this would you mind sharing how these LED's have held up for you?
