Just saw this bulletin for fiberglass vans, where the wheel speed sensors glitch going under power lines, which screws with the ebcm..
It even shows voltage spikes/dips measured at the battery. I can't see the scale, but it looks like +/- 2V.
Has something to do with roof bows, I wonder if the spacing is critical. So they ground the bows with straps.
I wonder if the SSV's had bonding straps because of problems with radio equipment since all the wiring seems to cater to that.. (or lights)...

GM always added extra grounding straps & interference-reducing measures to PPVs & SSVs, but did not bother doing so for civilian vehicles,
ostensibly to save a few bucks per vehicle assembled.

Yep.. and I guess these are technically "bonding" straps.
I had to look it up, but if anything it potentially helps with ground loop problems.

Extra battery grounds maybe technically another ground? Not implying that it would induce a ground loop issue.
My assumption is that ground loops typically happen to something NOT grounded well to the battery, and having to go through a poorly grounded body part..

Got these 8" Napa 710899 straps on ebay (1 auction, sorry you'll have to find another seller).
They look like a better braid and crimp than the amazon stuff..

But not as nice looking as the 9" GM straps. (AI-10-0021REVA Ground Strap - which I can't find)
