Dome light issue

04 Yukon XL

My passenger front door only turns on the dome light about maybe a third of the time.

Do I have to buy the whole latch assembly or is the light switch a seperate part?

Are there any tricks to make it work again. I know that on Fords if the dome light keeps getting stuck on then you can flood the latch with WD40 and it will end up getting the switch to work properly again. I tried this on mine but it didnt do anything.

if it is electrical and intermittent then it can most likely be fixed you just have to find the switch. i think it is in the latch. i would use contact cleaner
