I have a Denali Xl roof rack that I got from a u-pull it but it's to long for my Tahoe. do you think I can cut down the side rails to the correct length to make them work?

Thanks in advance for any input on this one,

Yeaaaa that's not gonna work. You need to pull one from a normal escalade.
