Getting the most powerful reverse led bulbs you can get makes a huge difference in the camera quality at night. I installed some 50W LED projection bulbs in my Denali and it made a significant difference. I believe the factory camera is overly sensitive to low light environments - before replacing the bulbs I could even tell a difference when it was cloudy out during the day.

For the auto bright feature - it is automatically turned off if your fog lights are turned on. Now as mentioned you can buy a quality $20 plug and play harness to act as a jumper (or there are several videos out there on how to make your own for a buck or two) that will turn on all your lights (lows, figs, and highs) when the highs are on....even when using the auto dim feature.

this is the harness I bought several months ago...works fantastic! And I drive a large portion of my miles at night....this combined with LED dogs and lows makes a HUGE difference in light output

if the lens in clean then I'd suggest it's defective. it should have a much better image than what you are getting.

I concur.

It really isn't great during the day either.

I like idea of the harness and will look into it. Just silly that you cannot have the fogs on with the lows and still have the auto brights.

My wife has a 16 Denali and couple things are annoying.

I finally figured out the automatic high beams but the function doesn't seem right. So if I understand correctly, you turn the brights on twice within 5 seconds and leave the lights on low beam. This seemed to work correctly except I couldn't use the fog lights or it would turn off the automatic lights. Does this sound right? In my Ram I am able to but I know they're different brands thus completely different interfaces.

Second ***** is the rear view camera. I can't see shit with it. Very blurry. Anyone else have this warrantied or is this just the way it is on these? Anyone change out to an aftermarket camera? How bad is it to do on this generation?

looks like the automatic high beams are disabled when fogs lights are on, but white automotive has a fix for it

That is pretty cool but $350 is steep for just this function, lol. Maybe there was more functions I didn't see that I would use.

I thought the feature that turns on the backup camera for a few seconds when you put your turn signal on might be cool. Extra viability if someone's hanging out in your blind spot. The blind spot indicators are pretty good but not perfect. Damn mirrors are so tiny too.

Also, did I see something about "Disable AFM?" (that piqued my interest.. that always piques my interest ... but I have a Range...) Anyway sorry to hijack. Just thinking out loud.

It’s not defective. They are all like that. I’ve brought mine to 2 dealers and they said ‘nope, works as designed’.

Adding super bright backup LED’s made mine even worse at night.

Maybe my 2019 Denali is a unicorn, but my back up camera image is much better than what "Yates" is getting.

Here’s mine. Just cleaned it. It’s not AS bad as the pic makes it look but it’s not even close to being acceptable quality for a $80K vehicle.

Post yours when you can for comparison.

I just want someone to be the guinea pig and replace with an aftermarket solution.

Agreed but since sealandskys is much higher quality then maybe there’s something the dealer can do...just need a pic to show the dealer...

Anyone have a pic of their backup cam at night with materially better resolution than what’s been posted here? Would love to show my dealer.
