Cruise Control

In the general course of troubleshooting non-function cruise control, what is step 2? I replaced the brake light switch this weekend to no effect. Do I look at replacing the stalk/switch next or the cruise control module?

I'm assuming you already checked the fuse?

You assume correctly. I suppose I need to ask what step 3 is...

What year/model do you have? Have you visually checked for burnt/meted insulation and/or wires? Have you checked voltage yet?

Double check the connection at the VSS, make sure there are no abs codes, and the multi-function lever on these are known to go bad.

step #134 would be to explain ow it does not work.

skipping ahead to step #134, it does not function at all. the turn signals/high beams all work at the stalk.

where is/what does the control module look like? do the stalks still pop out when you push in and turn?

yep. best guess is the switch on the stalk. i will probably try to replace that next.

under hood to the left of booster on the firewall is a black box with a throttle cable coming out of it. everything is in that box.
