Cruise Control

[06 Yukon XL]

On my 2010 Yukon XL Push button to turn on Cruise Control an nothing happens (cruise does not engage). Any thoughts on what may be going on here.

Little yellow light is on before you hit set?

cruise control will not work if there is a check engine light on, also will not work if there is a brake light problem such as the brake light switch. these are built in safety features.

also may not work if there a stabiltrac problem, the stabiltrac & abs system work together, if the cruise control detects any kind of brake issue or engine problem it wont work

I replaced the brake light switch and mine worked again. 2007 Suburban.

Most of the time it's the brake switch under the dash. Don't try cleaning it or buy a cheap one from the corner auto parts store, GM OE or ACDelco Professional, takes about 5-10 minutes if the little light comes on the switch and nothing happens.
