"Hi everyone,I have a 2009 suburban (GMT900). My cruise control disengages randomly, especially over bumps or turns. it also occasionally disengages while driving on straight highways (smooth roads), although this is rare.

When the cruise cuts out and I try to re-engage it, the dashboard cruise light flashes ON and immediately OFF in a split second. At the same time, I can hear a distinct "click" sound (like it tries to engage and immediately cuts off). and no any code

To get it working again, I have to apply the brakes and release. It does not necessarily require a hard stomp; even a light tap (just enough to trigger the brake lights on/off) is sufficient to reset the system and allow the cruise to engage.

Here is a list of everything I have replaced/checked so far:

  1. Replaced the Brake Pedal Position Sensor twice: First time I did it myself, and the second time I took it to a professional shop to have it replaced again, to rule out installation errors. (gm D1539J)
  2. Replaced both front Wheel Hub Assemblies: (Left and Right sides) including new ABS speed sensors.
  3. Replaced the Clock Spring (aftermarket).
  4. Cleaned the Brake Pedal Position Sensor connector pins with contact cleaner.
  5. Confirmed brake lights are working properly (no LEDs installed).
Important Note:I have scanned the vehicle and there are NO error codes (DTCs) or Check Engine light. .
Despite all this, the issue persists. Is this a known issue with the pigtail connector wiring? Or a pedal stop bumper issue? Any help is appreciated."

Bad Ground?

It could also still be the Brake Pedal sensor. I had a problem with my cruise control before and I replaced the switch (position sensor) with a non-AC Delco one and it didn't work. I returned it for the AC-Delco one and it worked
