Thanks man, Good to see another local guy. I got things covered for now, but around "engine replacement time" I might need an extra hand, I'll let you know. That is down the road though, once all the exterior and interior is complete.

Man, I think going with the HD hood will make your truck look awesome. Good call. Great job on the dynomat. I have done a car before so I know how long it takes to prep and apply and cut and trim it all.

Thanks guys
Sounds good Rob, I'll help you cut it no sweat, it would look sweet on an all black ride.

Here is a couple pictures... Preped the bottom of the hood for primer, and started installing the black leather seat covers to the Escalade seats.

Hood bottom is now primed, and I just bought a Dynamat Hoodliner for the bottom. It will have a layer of Dynamat xtreame with this hoodliner ontop.

What did you have to do to fabricate the hood? I have a yukon as well, and wanting to put a HD hood on mine. Why can't you just use a HD hood off of a GMC??

Hood styles are different.

Yup, what Trick said, the GMC Seirra HD hood is the exact same one that came on the Yukon. The Silverado HD hood has that high "nose" I'm looking for.

As for the work that needs to be done to the Silvy Hood to get it to fit the Yukon Headlights. Study the pictures I have up already about the cut. The red line is where I wanted the hood to end, but you must cut about 1/2 inch long on the outer shell to be able to fold it back using first a pair of flat nose pliers to get the break you want and then a hammer and dolly with the proper shapes to hammer it to where you want it. The inside shell, needs to be cut to the correct length to meet up with the folded in portion. If it's you first time doing something like this do it very slowly and with patience. You can always hammer or cut a little more, but fixing a mistake can take much longer then doing it slowly.

Just a note for those of you considering this, I noticed that once you cut away the headlight portion, the hood edge appears shorter than the rest, and is sitting almost directly above the top seem of the headlight lens and housing. To rectify this I elongated the holes in the hood bracket allowing the hood to be pulled 1/4"-1/2" forward.
