YOU TURN IT FROM THE BOTTOM UP AND LOCKS IN PLACE. WHICH MEANS EITHER REMOVING THE DASH OR REMOVING THE RADIO FITTING YOUR HANDS THROUGH THE SMALL SPACE TO MOUNT IT BACK.

IT DOES LOOK DAMAGED THE WINGS LOOK CHEWED UP, MIGHT HAVE TO REPLACE IT.

ya yours is broken, if you pull out the radio there is a sliver of space to get a new one in there which is tricky but can be done

Because the sensor is broken. Get a new one but you need access to the bottom of the dash to get it in like mentioned.

Weird, I thought that was the case and got another one (all-be-it from a junkyard). It looks the exact same and shows no sign of damage. I googled it just now and the sensor I found looks the same as mine. amzn.to/2P383tE

Can you tell me where it's broken? I wounder if the dash itself is missing a retention clip?

The trim around the bottom of the sensor is broken off, the sensor should go under the dash and then be pushed up into the hole (so just the dome top is showing), when you push it up from underneath it will snap into place. it will never go in from the top not gonna happen.

if you look on the fat plastic part of the sensor it has a notch on each side it should fit in the slots in the dash then twist and lock into place, if it doesn't then you may have to figure out a way to make it stay in place, super glue/rubber cement/epoxy/a washer or something supporting it underneath, even if it is just sitting in there a little lower than normal it will still work just the automatic headlights may come on sooner than normal

it's also possible you may have the wrong sensor?, I think on my ex wifes 04 suburban her's fell in the dash and I just pushed it back up from underneath and it snapped into place I don't think it twisted in.
