Chrome Running Boards please

Does anyone have pictures of chrome running boards on there tahoe, preferably a black tahoe? I just installed chrome mirrors and handles, and wanted to see if the chrome running boards would be too much chrome or if it would look good....I have searched and searched on this forum and others but it seems everyone likes the black ones...is there a reason no one has chrome running boards?

I think those are the ones I have been looking for...I didn't know they were escalade/denali boards...how much did you pay for yours? I found some for 100 bucks? Good deal or not worth it?

Those go for $500+ new.
So yeah, for a hundred bucks buy them and either install them or sell them for at least triple that amount.

The factory ones on my esky in my sig pic are the same ones that come on Yukon denali's and a select few 08/09 Tahoe LTZ's. I think the chrome trim is just the right amount of chrome.

I will be purchasing the ones I found (as long as they are OEM GM) this weekend and will post pics once I put them on....

I dont have the chrome side moulding to go along with it, debating getting that but I'm not sure how well I could put that on myself...I don't like others touching my vehicles lol...

Every NNBS Yukon Denali has the ones I have unless they have the power running boards option. The 08/09 Tahoe LTZ's (that came with the ribbed color matched door side moulding with the chrome trim on top) also came with my running boards with the chrome trim. In 2009 when they changed the side moulding, they went back to the non-chrome trimmed running boards. Backwards move by gm if ya ask me.. At least they added the esky bumper in 09 when they took the running boards away : /

It's really easy. I just put it on my avalanche. Ripped off old side moulding, used a 3M wheel drill attachment to remove the adhesive, and taped on the new side moulding. We'll worth it if ya ask me!

I've never seen a Tahoe with chrome trim running boards unless they were added after the fact. Where'd you hear about some '08/'09s getting them, Felix? Never heard or saw that.

Soul -- Thanks for saving me the trouble of having to put a pic up! lol I thought that the chrome on the running boards was sorely missing before I added them. With the Esky rack on the truck, the truck looked "top heavy" without the chrome along the bottom line of the truck. Now, I think the chrome looks properly stacked/spaced.

Personally, I prefer the integrated look of the Esky/Denali chrome-stripped boards. Just the right about of chrome IMO, and I like the shape of them.

Yeah, the esky/nali ones you have on are beautiful.

The just wouldn't look right on my truck for two reasons ...

1. If you look closely the non esky/nali hybrids have little plastic flares incorporated into the lower part of the fender/quarter panel. These stick out a little line up with the hybrid specific boards so they don't work with you boards because they wouldn't line up properly.

2. The Yukon/Tahoe hybrids have a completely different and much bigger/more vertical front bumper cover.

Both of these element give my truck a much 'squarer' look with which the bulkier oval boards work much better with. Not perfect but they look better than the plastic stock ones.

If you notice SLT Kon-Man's truck has the front and rear molded painted splash guards which give kind off the same affect as my flares,

Anyhoot, for regular yuks and hoes its a matter of personal preference, for me it was the only choice I had other than stock.

I know they are rare but they are definitely present. I run into them all the time. I live in southern Louisiana and a LOT of people have NNBS Yukon's/Tahoe's and i've seen sooo many now around where I live and the common trend is it:
1) that it's only LTZ's that are 08/09
2) it has the "ribbed" door side moulding with the chrome trim
3) "normal" Tahoe/Yukon bumper, not the Esky/Denali one with the chrome trim
4) chrome trimmed running boards (the one you have KMel)...

Then half way through 09 when they put on the newest version of their LTZ side moulding, they went back to the plain jane running boards... GM fail if ya ask me. They also made a few 08/09 Avalanche LTZ's similar to this with the ribbed side moulding w/ chrome trim and the chrome trimmed running boards.

Yea I noticed all that... I definitely agree with you. I just feel like it's almost TOO much chrome... I just like how it's just one little line of chrome trim versus the whole tube being chromed out. Looks great on your truck though

I have them, and I love them! They give a different, and distinct look from everyone else. Not many people have them. I actually purchased, and installed them awhile back after seeing Serge's photos of his. I debated it for a little, but I am glad I ended up going for it! For everyones reference, they are technically called Chrome Tubular Assists Steps.

I posted a picture. I don't have a side photo and I apologize for that, but you can see them all the same. I don't have a lot of chrome on my Tahoe, so I think it compliments it nicely.

There's a mod that I'm surprised no one with a blacked out hoe hasn't done yet, especially if they're dropped ...

I think adding the little hybrid flares and hybrid running boards would look awesome for that look, and whomever does it would be certain to be unique.

Thanks for the enlightenment, Felix. And Serge, yeah, I'd have gone the same route as you if I had a Hybrid. I understand completely what you're saying about the overall "squarish" look. Makes good sense.
