For any one adding a aftermarket head unit with a USB cable. You can tap into the OEM USB connection cable. Without buying the Mini B to type A USB adapter cable. Right under the center console under the cup holder. Remove the cover to expose the connection underneath. There is where the OEM Mini USB connector connects. Disconnect the adapters where they connect. I ran my wire from my Kenwood DMX7706S to the USB connector and connected it here. Made the install very simple. 20201101_083103_resized.jpg 20201101_083114_resized.jpg 20201101_083210_resized.jpg 20201101_083218_resized.jpg 20201101_084427_resized.jpg

No need to cut anything, you can use original parts 20944422 (USB Port) and 20983937 (Receptable Retainer) to put a USB port in one before 2010. You need both pieces because the USB port will not clip into the old cigarette lighter retainer, the lip and clip position inside is different. When assembling make sure to not push the two pieces together until you have the receptable retainer mounted in the dash.
