I put an aftermarket cd player in my Tahoe and was wondering if there's a kit I have to but to replace the stock cd part into a cubbyhole or is that an oem piece I can get for vehicles that didn't have a cd player?

Check on Ebay dude... just to let ya' know before ya' start the project, it's dark in the replacement pocket @ night...so you might want to think about installing an LED to help ya' see in it. Your preference though.... I found out from experience.

There's plastic clips on each side (part of the dash) that you'll see once you pull the face of the dash off.
Just lightly push 'em up, and the pocket should slide right out if ya' pull it.

thats a ripoff cause on the paperwork they gave me the list price was 25, they make two different ones tho, they make one that replaces where the radio went and a smaller one for where the cd player goes maybe they gave you the price on the wrong one or something

does anybody know how to remove the CD player?

It's been awhile since I did that, but theres like some tabs you push in on either side, I played around with it for a few mins and got it, its pretty easy

I got my pocket from the store I bought the wiring harness for my radio from. (long time ago can't remember)
But a radio store would be close, dealer would be another option, or lmc truck, etc...

To get the cd player out. Like 95escahoe said.
Take the dash cover off, (around the gauges/radio) then look on either side of the cd player and raido. They will have a tab on each side you can lift up or push down.
Pull both out, to remove the wires. It plugs into the radio, can't rember if it is hardwired or a plug on the cd player.

Then just push the radio/cubby hole back in.

I'm going to put a CB radio in there when I pull it out.
