I have a quick question about a brush guard. A friend of mine has a Westin brush guard that he had on his 05 tahoe and he is selling it. I have a 99 tahoe and want a brush guard. Will it fit? Would it look bad? Anyone have any pics of one by any chance?

Thanks. I should have mentioned that I was new to the forum but I was doing it from my cell phone earlier.

you might hold it up to the front of the truck and see if it lines up with the frame rails. may be easy to get it to fit. but mavr1ck is right, it won't just bolt up.

I have no problem making some new brackets for it, Im just wondering how it would look. It's a pretty good drive to meet him to look at it so I was just going to check on here to see if it has been done before.

have him give you the mount width, inside measurement between the the ears (don't know what else to call them) that curve around the corner marker lights, and height from the top of the frame mounts to the top of the brush guard.

should be able to tell real easy if its something that will fit. i highly doubt there is much of a difference between the two other than the mounts, but i don't have a NBS to look at off hand to say 100%

Well I got it today and the brackets don't fit but the brush guard does fit the front of the tahoe pretty good. I just have to make new brackets, Shouldn't be too bad tho.

I made new brackets out of some 2 1/2 inch angle iron, strong enought to hold up to me using my 10k winch so they should be over kill for just holding it on there.
