broke leaf springs

guess i had sloppy u bolts, snaped the top load spring and bottom helper spring. bought used springs for 50 bucks. put my 3 add a leafs in the new pair. just waiting for the bushings to get here. here are a few pics.

yeah i had to do like 20mph to get home, every time i hit the gas or braked the axle moved about 3-4 inches. that could have been bad.

How'd you do that? I just took mine out to the desert and was putting her over jumps without problem.

I've been bending the centering pins but never broke a spring yet. Good thing you caught that.

You should have that shim under the block, not on top. That could have caused the stress needed to break the overload spring. I have also seen a lot of blocks with the spring angle shim mounted on top of the block get spit out from the axle. Might want to rework that setup.
