My dads 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, he was repairing the brake pads when he accidentally applied the brakes which made the piston went too far and came out of the caliper. When he went to push it back he accidentally ripped the boot. We are now trying to replace the boot and can't figure out exactly how to put it back. Help please

Unfortunately, technically, it needs to be replaced. The dust cover should just kinda pop back into place, it's the square cut o-ring that seals the piston and allows it to push it out and recess that you need to be careful of. You can buy rebuild kit with the dust cover, square cut oring for cheap though.

Go to the parts store and buy a rebuilt caliper. It takes a lot of practice to replace the piston correctly. JMHO and good luck.
