Blending actuator door

Hello everyone have a issue with my blending door actuator. Goes from the defrost to vent then to the floor then back through. I unhooked the battery , unhooked the wire harness to the motor and it still does the same thing . Just wondering if it needs to be replaced or is there a way to reset it . If I do have to replace the motor what are the steps in getting to work right ? Thanks
