Just wondering. I know theres lotsa room for improvement on the 5.3's and tons of room with the 6.0's. Just wasn't sure how retarded the factory tuned the Vortecs. My 97 doesn't seem to have any torque management, it gets silly easier than most of my trucks.

Just got mine done this past weekend , Met justin (great guy) very informative answers where never grey or short. Mine is a 98 , I noticed a very noticeable gain ,

-Throttle response is much sharper
-Shifts don't feel sluggish (after he set my tires to the correct size) and adjusting shift points
- Feels like it has more Giddy up
- Fuel economy i haven't noticed as I haven't had much time to drive it normally Lol
- the truck Idles a little smoother as well (this may just be my imagination though)

He fixed my Speedo (was 6-7 Mphs Off)

My truck has over 200k miles and the tune did not hurt it

Assuming you have a 96, the traditional tune is $200, with a core charge (refundable) of $60.

For those of us unfamiliar with the process, how exactly does it work? We send something in, and they send something back? Truck is undrivable in the downtime?

unknown at this time.
depends on year and type of tuning but that is one way. if you have money for deposits and 98 or newer they will send you a device to plug in. you drive send them data thru email i believe. they tune. send it back. you load in. scan while drive. send back for evaluation. when all is goo send equipment back and deposits are refunds. actual tune cost is a higher with that method. they travel too so you can meet in person.

The easiest way was to see if they are coming to your area and secheual an appointment time. if not they have a way of doing it by mail. Check there site and they have it all listed on there :)

As mentioned above, we have three mail order (traditional, scan cable, AutoCal) tuning options, as well as inperson tunes (for 98+ vehicles). Your vehicles does not have to be down on any.

Anyone know exactly what their "93 octane" tune consists of? To my understanding, running premium fuel only makes a difference when you're running higher compression, and there is no way to electronically change your compression ratio (which is what a PCM tune would do). So, when they say they have an unleaded gas tune, and premium gas tune, are they really just blowing smoke? I can't see running premium in these things making any difference unless the engine was physically assembled different.
