If it had a pit, I’m willing to bet he just filled in the pit without removing the walls or floor. Might consider cutting out the new concrete and digging out the hole.

Maybe. I figured he either filled it with dirt/gravel then poured concrete on top. It's probably about a 3' wide by 5-6' long area. There's about a 2.5'x2.5' square of the same type of concrete just inside the walk thru doorway of the garage a few feet from the pit. I don't know what that's about either
