I have a 2007 SLT without the factory nav screen, just regular radio with Bose system. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on replacing it. I have been looking at the Pioneer 8400 for the app mode or a Kenwood. Was also thinkin about putting a factory unit in. What's the best route or unit? Sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

I have the 8400. So far so good. It really makes the stock speakers much louder. I also looked into the Kenwood but decided on the pioneer. Do you want nav or have to have it thru your headunit?

Ya I don't really care about nav with the HU because I have a iPhone and use that most of the time anyway. But I was wondering about the difference between the 8400 and the 4400, do they both have the app mode? Or is the 8400's app mode different?

I have the 8400. I had the 4400 for a week or two before getting the option to upgrade pretty cheap/easy.

I would only go with the 8400 if you have an iPhone/iPod and feel like paying the $150 difference to get just a couple features only associated with the iPhone/iPod

Nice write up, thanks a lot. I think I will go with the 8400. I saw the harnesses you used, I have OnStar, Steering Wheel Controls, rear seat entertainment and Bose will I be able to keep everything?

My steering wheel module sucks. It rarely works and when it does, it doesn't work correctly. I have the PAC module.
