Auto dimming bright lights

i have a 17 Tahoe premier that has the auto dimming high beams. For the life of me, i can't figure out how to get this to work. Its worked in the past but i have no idea what i did to turn it on.

Can anyone help?

Flip the high beams off and then on. A green light on the dash will come on. Does not work while the fog lights are on

Click the stalk foward and back once, at night with low beams on and no fog lights. Then leave it in the low beam position it will have a light in the dash indicating its on
