I should probably expand on my theory.. Sorry.
Remember we had vacuum-leak-like symptoms when the AOS was installed?
My theory is thus :
The new valve breather hoses supplied with the KN intake weren't sealed like the factory ones - not loose, but, not airtight.
The addition of the AOS changed the intake dynamics; what was once a simple tube to the crankcase with a specific vacuum, created a greater vacuum demand (longer hoses, can) with the addition of the AOS, and the path of least resistance (in the face of the new space from which to suck) for that vacuum, was drawing unmetered air, post-MAF, from the valve breather connections, because they weren't really airtight.
I'm not sure if that's clear or the technical way to explain it (there's a term I'm fishing for and can't quite catch it), but, that's what I believe happened, which is why I had vacuum-leak-like symptoms.
