Does anyone know anything about the 3.5" leveling kit from Supreme Suspension? I found them on ebay. Here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-1...544918QQ_trksidZp5197Q2em7QQitemZ270755639013

Based on what I've read on here about leveling kits I sent the following email to them:

I was looking at the above referenced leveling kit for my 2007 tahoe and wanted to know if you have received any complaints from other customers regarding CV boot failure, stress on axles etc. I ask because most other kits similar to this one are only 2.5 inch max and the general consensus is that anything over 2.5 inches could damage the vehicle.
Thanks,

Later today I got this response:

We never have any complaints about this kit, and plus we've done the
installation ourselves many times without having any problems. Before we
ever sell any of our kits, each one is tested on several different trucks
from different years and situations, and the kits are still on these
trucks today, and they're all just fine. We would never sell an item we
were unsure of or that might cause problems for someone's vehicle. If you
have any questions let me know.

Any comments/information would be helpful.

I have always heard that 2.5 is the max leveling kit, to go any higher you need to change the knuckles or something else. I have a CCM 2.5/1 kit and when I got my alignment after they told me it almost wouldn't align because of the lift. You could put this kit on your truck but it will never align among other problems you would encounter. Also 3" in the rear is ridiculous, it wouldn't even be close to level. Also with that much lift in the rear you will need new shocks and probably new shock mounts. IMO don't buy this kit, ,you will have more problems than you probably want to deal with. Get a 2.5/1 leveling kit if you want to be level or get a good 4" lift if that is what you are looking for, remember you get what you pay for.

^+1. Anything higher than 2.5" for a level kit, a proper lift is required. That kit would require a front diff drop, longer extending struts and shocks (cannot use OEM), and aftermarket upper A-arms at the very least to minimize longterm damage.

I can't imagine the effort it would take to get the nut back on the upper balljoint.
A 3.5" leeling kit is compressing the spring at rest by 1 3/4 inches.
Just think of all that compressed energy on the suspension - all day every day

I think it would be hard to get property alignment with 3.5. Probably wouldn't drive right either.

Zombie thread!!!

What about a 2wd? Is 2.5/1 still the limit, before putting on a lift kit?

Ok, thanks. I thought they were more concerned about CV angles. But balljoints makes sense too.
