I have a 2017 Tahoe LS with base audio system. I have looked for it on the internet and can't find the amp location. I have found a fuse marked amp on the passenger side fuse panel. When I pulled it nothing happened. Radio does have ok sound but could be better.

Factory amp is the drivers side rear kick panel, where the jack storage is, pull the 2 plastic covers it's in between those can't miss it.
note that it is not easily replaced, you will need specific adapters and a multi-channel amp if you want to upgrade which whirlwinds into a couple grand easily
unless you want junk in which case just leave it alone.
"adding" a powered sub alone helps, if you go that route it can be cheaper but you will want to at least use a bass restorer module, using a simple line level adapter is going to result in piss poor audio
just my opinion, having gone down this road as well as others....
