Hi Guys,
New here and new tahoe (just got it a couple days ago). I will be going pretty crazy with the audio as the truck will be sponsored by a few audio companies and one thing I haven't figured out yet is how to keep the alt. charge up. My buddies 04 sub. will sit 14.5 plus as long as he has his headlights on... Seems similar with the 07 as mine tends to run around 14V at night but only 13 during the day... Any good way to stay 14.5ish without having the headlights on? I will be running 2 yellow tops up front and a couple XS Powers in the back, but obviously without the alt. charging them at 14.5 they won't ever be there...

Thanks for all the help!
Evan

If XS, ask for one of these.

I actually have one of those that was ordered for my buddies 04 but it didn't work with his year... Will it work on my 07??

Just found out it won't work as I have the same 2 pin connector on my alt. my buddy does... The VCM uses the 4 pin oval models...

I don't mind doing that, but will the factory ECM still not allow a ** alt. to charge higher than it wants it to?

Not 100% yet, but Alpine Screen, Morel Speakers, JL Audio Mult Ch. Amps and Digital Designs Mono Amp and Subwoofers. Come down to what my shop and those companies decide :)

If you are going with yellow top Optima's then get the D34 size and just allow your alt to charge them. If you plan on a day of "showing off" then put them on a charger the night before to deep cycle them and ensure full capacity. The Optima site can give you more info and they also have a phone number you can call for special applications such as yours and they will advise the best charger to use as well.

Just invest in a good ** alternator. That and the battery bank will do you pretty well unless your gonna go like 5000+watts in that case your gonna need 2+ alts and lot of bat's

Forgot to throw in Iraggi and DC power are some good companies for ** alt's, but you probably already knew that.
