Got in my 04 Tahoe this evening, started it right up, drove it literally 2 blocks away. Parked it fished for about 30 minutes. Started it up, noticed my AC blower wasn't working all the sudden, also my ABS light is on now, along with the brake light and I'm getting a service 4wd message and push button 4wd selectors aren't lighting up. Everything was fine. It had been a little over a week since I had drove it. I've checked every fuse and they're good. I disconnected the battery for 10-15 minutes and issue is still there. Also the brake light doesn't come on right away. It takes about 10 seconds for it to come on after I start it. It seems to drive fine but I don't want to drive it too far with the service 4wd message coming up so I guess my question is any idea what is causing all these things to happen all at once and any solution to fix it. Troubleshooting tips would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance!

D, all the above but.....When you went fishing, did you drive and park on asphalt or were you off the road at all where you could have snagged something/wiring/harness?

As stated above, when a number of electrical items start acting spastic at the same time, it is usually a result of a low voltage situation. ===>>> Battery condition, battery terminals condition, battery cables condition, grounds not tight and clean.

Start with the battery, taking it out of the truck and taking it to a local auto parts or battery store and have it tested with a bench load tester. If the battery is good, proceed to inspecting the cables and their end connections to be tight and clean.

Charge that battery and have it load tested. If the trips are short (like your 2 block trip), it's likely that the battery isn't getting fully charged. Short trips without full warmups also are hard_on the drivetrain.
I pulled the battery and put it on my charger and it's showing 12.9 V. Is that low enough to cause these issues?

I previously had an amp hooked up but it was causing the positive cable to not completely tighten down and I went to start it once and there was nothing, so I just removed it completely and the I was able to get a good tight connection. Everything was fine after that and that was several weeks ago. I did notice that the stereo isn't coming in now as well when it would before. As I replied to a couple of comments I have the battery on a charger now and it's charging. It showed 12.9V when I first hooked the charger up. The sticker on the battery is 12/24. So I guess it could be time for a new battery. I'll let it fully charger and go from there.

As I previously recommended to you, take the battery to an appropriate store and have it bench load tested. Simply charging it and reading the volts only tells a portion of the battery's condition. It is good that you are charging it, as that will make the best scenario for a bench load test procedure.

LOAD tested as mentioned several times above...I once had a battery that tested 100%...I thought that meant it was good...once LOAD tested it went to zero and a new battery fixed it right up...

Good luck with yours
