I need an alarm that can handle my shaved doors, and door poppers (remotely pop driver/passenger/rear hatch). Right now I open the doors with a hidden button, but that only opens the driver door, and I want to be able to walk up, pop the passenger door for my wife, etc.

I know nothing of alarms, but intend to install it myself anyway, and post a write-up, if no one beats me to it. Please give me some brands/prices/options, those of you more experienced than I?

Ok. So here's where I stand. Car Toys wants $600 just for the clifford brain unit that might do everything i need it to do, with my door poppers. Matrix 33, IIRC. The they want to add a lot for install, wiring, relays, etc. I need something cheap/easy because when it really boils down to it, it is my humble, ignorant opinion that if someone really wants to jack my truck, they're going to, whether I have a $200 alarm, or $1000. Maybe I'm wrong in that assumption? Anyway, here's wht i'm going to buy really, really soon, if I don't hear back from you guys. :)

Sounds like way too much. I am sure the motors can be wired to work with any car alarm or key less entry system. Have you asked around in local car electronics/alarm systems shops to see what they can do?

Car toys installed the clifford in my rover, and the clifford in my honda. So long as it makes noise when someone pummels it, or opens a door, and I can hit a button and open the front driver/passenger doors separately, that's all I'm really concerned with. Remote start is cool, but not necessary.

Autopage, Viper, DEI in general, theres plenty of alarms capable of doing what you want. Most likely you will need at least a pager tho. The alarm is not the difficult part, its the install and programming that will be the problems.

price is too high imo. I wouldnt pay much more than 150 for a 2way. I paid 140 for my autopage rs727 w/ remote start. and i can get a viper 5901 for under 200 iirc. look more local and less internet. lol
