Has anyone been able to add HD radio to 2024 Yukon Denali? It doesn't appear to be part of the stock bose radio for the 2024 year.

I'm in Southern California for a week. EVERY FM station is HD. Can I listen to them? HELL NO. Thank you, GM

Doesn't make any sense, my wife's Tahoe has HD and my 2019 Silverado doesn't have HD radio and I can listen to the same radio stations she has that are in HD here in Maryland in my Silverado.

WSHE 820 in Fredrick is digital only. More stations are headed that way. No HD radio and you can’t listen. GM really screwed the pooch with this decision.

All licensed FM stations by the FCC must transmit a standard, analog FM signal (mandatory). This is the baseline requirement that ensures compatibility with all existing traditional radios (car radios, boomboxes, home stereo systems).
HD transmission however is completely optional and quit honestly it sucks unless you just happen to be lucky enough to be within 50 miles line of sight from the tower, even then it's questionable reception.
to clarify:
HD Radio is often described as a digital-only signal, which is technically correct for the data it carries. However, the official FCC transmission system is called IBOC (In-Band On-Channel), which means the digital sidebands exist alongside the analog carrier wave, using the same frequency channel.

The station cannot simply transmit the digital sidebands without the analog FM core.

your referenced AM station WSHE 820 is a major exception in Oct 2020 the FCC did change the rules and does allow AM stations to voluntarily change to broadcast in all digital format without the analog AM carrier, they changed this rule to try and help the struggling AM band have better sound like FM in hopes of gaining more listeners

There is no current Sunset for FM ANALOG transmissions like there was for TV
Some European countries have changed to DAB/DAB+
