:welcome:

Probably a p1345 which is actually the alignment correlation of crank and cam sensors. If this is the one then you will need a scanner that can read "cam_retard" to adjust your distributor correctly to re align the sensor to each other.

Other possibility is if it is just the crank sensor you will need a crank relearn procedure done because the sensor variation has been changed. Usually done at a dealer or with a really high end Snap-on or OTC scanner.

Can you get the specific code?

I apologise for taking so long to reply. Been really busy and don't have a scanner to read the check engine codes. Had to ask around to get it checked.. well if anybody can help me still here is the code... P1345.. thanks again.

I Thought so.

Easy fix but unfortunately you will need a scanner for the adjustment that can read Cam_Retard. Maybe you can ask for help again. Once you are done clear your active codes and it should not come back. If it does you may want to have the crank relearn procedure redone as well and verify it is not given incorrect rpm readings.

Instructions below:

ADJUSTING PROCEDURE

  1. With the engine OFF, slightly loosen the distributor hold down bolt. IMPORTANT: Cam Retard Offset reading will not be accurate below 1000 RPM.
  2. Start the engine and raise engine speed to 1000 RPM.
  3. Using a scan tool monitor Cam Retard Offset.
  4. Rotate the distributor as follows:
4.1. To compensate for a negative reading, rotate the distributor in the counterclockwise direction. 4.2. To compensate for a positive reading, rotate the distributor in the clockwise direction.
  1. Repeat step 4 until 0°+/-2°, is obtained.
  2. Turn the ignition OFF.
  3. Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt to 3 Nm (25 lb. ft.).
  4. Start the engine, raise engine speed to 1000 RPM and recheck Camshaft Retard Offset.
