96 Tahoe ticking noise

i have a 96 tahoe 106k miles, shes been making what i belive is lifter noise on cold starts and then the noise would go away after 5min or so, im using mobil 1 5w30 same with oil filter, just had a recent change about not even 1,000 miles ago, i added some seafoam to the oil hoping that it would help and it did the ticking was only lasting for a few seconds and went away, today i took a 2 hour drive to a destination and back (4 hours total) and now the ticking is constant even when the engine is nice and warm. Any ideas? noise seems to be coming from the top of the engine but from both sides, here is a video of it, please help, thanks.

how is the oil pressure? have you red-lined the engine recently? could be a loose rocker a bad lifter or a bent pushrod. is it louder on one side of the engine? sorry for all of the questions just need more info in order to narrow it down.

oil pressure is at idle when cold 40, and once warmed up it fluctuates between 18-20 and no i have never red-lined the truck i dont think ive ever had it past 3500 rpms although i dont know the previous owners i cant say that for them but it did not have a tick when i bought it, the noise is pretty much the same on both sides if you watch the video i tried to get close in on each side but it might be hard to tell i just want to make sure its not a rod knock of anything like that. A mechanic friend who has the same tahoe told me to upgrade my oil to 15w40 and ad some lucas to it and get an anti-drainback filter and go from there, what do you think cause i was going to do this first thing tomorrow i dont want to drive the truck with it sounding like this. Also im running mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 in it now. Thanks.

Never heard a lifter knock like that. Sounds more like an exhaust leak right at the manifold to me. I would think using a synthetic that you would probably get a little more engine noise because it's thinner but switching to a thicker oil is not going to solve your problem if you really do have an issue. Also, I would never put any of those oil treatments in my truck. They're just a waste of money.

found out the oil was way too thin due to the seafoam, i put some shell rotella t 15w40 with some lucas oil treatment and a k&n oil filer with the anti-drainback valve as recommended by a few friends who own the same truck and have had the same issue (they are all mechanics as well) and the ticking went right away they said they have been running their trucks like that for years and they all have 200k+ miles on their trucks
