In 2008 there were at least:

49 RWD Tahoe models (1GNFC138) with the 6.2 L92 motor. All known to me were built at Janesville, WI.


In 2009 there were at least:

136 RWD Tahoe LTZ models (1GNFC332) with the 6.2 L9H motor.

1 4x4 Tahoe LS model (1GNFK132) with the 6.2 L9H motor.

532 4x4 Tahoe LTZ models (1GNFK332) with the 6.2 L9H motor.

2 4x4 Yukon SL models (1GKFK132) with the 6.2 L9H motor.

170 4x4 Yukon XL SL models (1GKFK162) with the 6.2 L9H motor.


In 2010 there was at least:

1 RWD Yukon XL SLT model (1GKUCKE2) with the 6.2 L9H motor.

24 4x4 Yukon XL SLT models (1GKUKKE2) with the 6.2 L9H motor.

Well, PPVs should have VINs that go like this, 1GNEC03, where C0 is the designator under Chevrolet for the PPV and K0 would be for the SSV (4x4) for the 2007 through 2009 model years. The C13 and K13 Tahoes and Yukons according to their VINs are all base models but I know of at least three of those Tahoes that are LTZ optioned. I'm speculating, but it could be that they began life on the order sheet as LSs or SLs and were later upgraded to LTZs as options were ticked off for example.

Well, these were identified by VIN decoding mostly, I guess the next thing should be to google some of the rare ones and see if there are any photos on the internet available of them.

Oh, the PPVs, like the XFEs, are in a lower weight class, "E" which is 6001-7000 GVWR. All the regular Tahoes through Hybrid Escalades are in the "F" rating which is 7001-8000 GVWR. The SSVs being 4x4s are in the heavier class.

I believe there were some Chevy Avalanches and Suburbans (originally only sold in the Canada market) that had 6.2's in them also to add to the "6.2 Unicorns"

Yes there were, talked to a guy who has one even. Just haven't hunted them down yet.

Couple interesting things. The first one shows a price of almost 34k or was that sticker? Seems low. Also the weight class. I go the the dump a few times a year where you drive on the scale I’m usually around 6400-6700 including trailer and junk on it. I never questioned it but that seems low then for 07 Denali. Good stuff James. Also wondering if the 2wd is much quicker.

The default currency was not US Dollars, fooled me too until I looked at it again, they price was $9200. PPVs and XFEs which are light weight 2WD Tahoes or Yukons have a curb weight of around 5200-5400 pounds. The SSVs and regular Tahoes and Denalis usually weigh in between 5500-5700 or so. The Suburbans and Yukon XLs, mine weighs 5900 and I've seen them lighter and up to almost 6000. The 2500s are around 6500 pounds.

The 8.1 was in the Av 2500 last year was 2006 MY early- then cancelled> i had a 2004.
