at my job we have done 38's on alot of 2wd trucks with no problems i didnt think 40's would be much different

I would do 37s if I were you, the only issue is your truck looks to be too high with all that lift it may not look right.
Do you have a Bulletproof lift, or CST, FTS?

Only thing I would do is get some 4wd hubs, removed the axle from it leaving you with the outer part that mounts to the spindle and the stub shaft that goes thru the spindle, this way the hub cannot fall out when it fails which is the biggest downfall/fear of lifted 2wd 1/2ton trucks.

I had 40's on a 6-3 set up, with 3 inch cut out bushwhacker flares on my 1996 half ton. Only rubbed when i jumped it. If you do not want to cut fenders you will need a 12 i would say.

i have the 6-3 combo and had 38 swampers on. the more u go on ifs the worse it is, do the sas swap, its way worth it!

ps i get 4.5 mpg

do u want to keep the ifs or do a solid axle swap? i have seen the welds break on ifs kits over 10in.

What did you use to clear 38's?

I'm running 40's on a 2002 yukon. I have a 6" susp. 3" body torsion bars cranked. It rubs like hell so I think I'm going to have to step down to a 38
