Well since my truck is crashed and im goin to be fixing it soon i might as well put some better stuff into it. I have to replace my rear end so i was looking into getting a rear end out of a 2500 silvy or burb. question is do i have to get the computer programed with the 4.10s? or is it just a plug and play thing? will it throw a CEL? and also will the rear end out of a silvy fit or just get one out of a 4x4 burb? any insight will help. trucks goin to the shop on monday.

2500 are 8 lug, computer will need to be retuned as it seems to effect the abs/traction control. I don't know much beyond that. researching that myself. hopefully someone will chime in. I saw a thread where blueflamed did the gear swap, but you are talking upgrading the whole axle to a 12 bolt. different beast.

good luck with the rebuild. I just read the thread on the accident. I would want to put mine back on the road too. I don't want a NNBS with cracking dash syndrome lol!!!
