I keep seeing people saying that there will be issues with your tires anything over
33" that have wheels that differ from stock offset in terms of using keys in the front, but how about without keys? Can you clear a 285/70/17 without rubbing issues on a bone stock Z71? Also I keep seeing people talking about the Ford Keys opposed to the aftermarket ones, does anyone have a rough ballpark of how much you would get out of the ford keys and/or a part number/ make, model, year?

like mud said, you should be ok. 285/70/17 = 32.7" OD

most people with true 33" don't experience any rubbing on stock

If you know ppl that have 33" at stock and no rubbing, then could you fit 35's with a mild lift; like only 2" lift?
....maybe if you run a spacer in the front too....any of you guys running spacers, like cnc'd pieces that bolt up, the kind that spidertrax or whoever else makes???

with my 33's i rubbed a good bit in the rear but i just trimmed a few little areas and got it right.. only reason these rubbed is because of how nobby the sidewalls are on the mud grapplers. They are about 12.6" wide and 33" tall. Depending on the 35" tire you would have some rubbing. if it's skinny you wont have as many problems

I ran 285/70/17 D/Cepek FC-II with stock Z wheels on my 04 and all I did was crank the front 1" and It was fine. slight rub right rear with flex and left front in reverse cut to the right.

I have an 04 Z71 4WD, running P285/70R17 Bridgestone Revo 2's and have no rubbing. Did not have to adjust keys either. Fills in wheel wells great.

Abstrastic, I am going from Goodyear Fortera tires (road) to the 285/70/17 terra grapplers that you have. I'm getting them next week. Do you hear them inside the vehicle? If so, are they loud enough to be annoying on a long road trip?

I put on the 285/70/17 on my stocker wheels on my stock suspension Z71 Tahoe and not a bit of rubbing lock to lock forward or reverse. I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers there is a little bit of road noise, but it's nothing compared to the road noise of a mud tire if you've ever had a set. I just turn up the radio a bit and good to go

I had 305/70-16's on my old 98 2500 and they are extremely quiet. Once you get a few miles on them though they pretty much just turn into regular street tires, no mud capability. I'm looking at the Mickey Thompson ATZ's or Pro Comp Extreme AT's for my new/old Tahoe.
