Called a few dealers today, none had access to the 2026 yukon ordering. Hopefully in the next few days more dealers will get visibility?

I ended up calling 3 different dealerships and the responses were all over the map. Some said I could order, some said not till September, some said they didn’t have pricing, etc.

Basically it sounds like they haven’t been properly trained or made aware just yet. Give it a few days/week and hopefully it will get better

Regardless of the brand I have also found the exact same dealership response. I attribute this to the fact that they don't pay most employees that much anymore so most of the staff is transient and really doesn't understand the brand they are selling or servicing. That's one of the reasons I dumped my Ford Explorer after arguing with the Service Writers about recalls that my vehicle had but because they didn't understand or know about them they refused to fix them. So far GM Service has been much better but its still hit and miss. Your experiences are not uncommon. Most buyers now do so much Internet research by the time they hit the dealership they know more about the vehicle and options then any of the sales people do. That's another reason for these forums being so valuable.

I’ve owned GM vehicle continuously for more than 50 years, after my Dad helped me buy my first car - a 1965 Chevrolet Chevrolet Malibu 2-door.

I’ve dealt with numerous car dealers for service and repairs. I have also purchased Dodge vehicles (with good dealer service).

In 2015 I bought my first new (and only) Ford - a 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4. The dealer service was miserable, not only the selling dealer but another dealer I used when I moved to a different county. Warranty or customer-pay service was often terrible.

I got rid of the Expedition and bought a new Tahoe. The reason I did not buy a new Tahoe in 2015 was that it had accrued five safety recalls part-way through the 2015 model year. I felt that was a bad sign then.

It has been my experience that Ford dealer service is without a doubt the worst of any manufacturer.

(snip)...Only requirement is you have to pay cash or use GM Financial if you are purchasing from out-of-state, but you can refinance immediately.
That's a pretty blatant gimmick, called captive financing. GM is about 3.5% higher than our CU. At what point do consumers say no to gimmicks? I say only if they are powerless or don't feel like shopping around. imho it's emotion that is ok with them. With my wedding all those years ago the reception venue said you pay cash, no sales tax. I said I pay cash, 20% discount. They said no. So I said I'll be using AMEX (their worst possible form of payment). In other words, just because I can pay cash, doesn't mean I will because I'm told to. On the other alternative, why would I want to have multiple hard inquiries on my credit? jmoymmv

I'm a GM fanboy and the Tahoe order is only our 2nd GM car. When I first dealt with Buick GMC service in 2011, I felt like I walked back in time to 1982. Poor customer service, no automotive knowledge, old looking service departments and lounges, lack of communication. It is truly the worst I've ever encountered. Even with warranty work. It took 1 1/2 years to fix a captains chair. Yeah, looking back I'm not sure how I let myself get strung along like that.

I have countless stories but one where we were given a Suburban loaner when the power steering rack failed at 27k. After about a week, I got a random call at 2 PM--your car is ready. I need my Suburban back today. I said I'll be in tomorrow first thing. The guy starts yelling so I said, I am on the other side of the river and at work. I'll see you tomorrow morning first thing, and hung up. When I get agitated, I become Jack Nicholson in "Five Easy Pieces" with the chicken salad sandwich scene. Can't tell you how many times that happened at Buick GMC, and we tried 6 dealers all around our home, all the same. At any rate, maybe Chevy would somehow be different? Kind of doubtful, but we'll see. Thus far? At least with a custom order, the sales process has been altogether different in a positive way. ZERO sales pressure. Lots of communication. TPW is 7/28.

btw this thread seems to have the feeling why get a 2025 (i.e. the subject), wait for a 2026. My thoughts have always been the opposite. Just like you want to have the smallest home in the best location, you want to have the older model year with the most recent or latest production. Again my .02 ymmv

When you guys click on the various TABS do you get blank screens like I do?

Highlights and Color and Trim are the only tabs I get any text to display
Nope. Every tab has information on it for me. Maybe change which browser youre using? Or ensure all the search parameters are properly filled out?

Try it again. For me initially about half of the tabs came up with blank screens (Firefox, and Edge), but after a half minute or so clicking through them showed info on all tabs. Just a guess but there may be enough traffic that the info is impeded.

New member here, I"m on the GMC truck forum and own a 2024 1500 Denali with the 6.2. My engine hasn't come up for inspection yet but I have 14k trouble free miles. Questions for you Yukon owners.

I don't use my truck bed that much but would like the room for road trips and like the bigger vehicles. The Yukon would be a foot shorter but similar other dimensions, I live in the country but drive in the city often and love road trips. Seems the foot shorter may be an advantage and the cameras on the Denalis are great for parking.

Would the driving experience be similar, better than the truck - handling, quietness, cabin room, etc.? Since there is only 2 of us and a dog would keep most of the seats flat. Instead of truck bed would have plenty of covered storage. I drive mostly highway and occasionally gravel roads so the AT4 would probably not be a good choice. Any comments you could share appreciated. I'll be at dealer next week for oil change so will look into this more.

Not a Yukon owner (1500 AT4 diesel own) but have done copious amounts of research and were in similar positions.

The AT4 may be better suited to your needs then you think. With the air ride suspension, it would be a great highway cruiser and give you more sidewall for the gravel roads.

I’m looking at Yukons/tahoes because of the foot shorter in length and having the enclosed trunk area.

Overall you’ll find the at4 or Denali to be a far more luxurious ride than what you have now, especially if you get the air suspension. The Denali 1500 is nice but not nearly as smooth riding as the Yukons

Thanks for the comments, will follow up these ideas. The other thing, as I prefer V8s, is the new short block 8s coming in 2027 model year so they say. So, look at 2026 or wait till late next year to see changes? I’m also wondering if in fact GMC has really solved the 6.2 engine issue. While the truck has been great on road trips in ride I’m sure you are correct that the Yukon would be much nicer in those respects.

IF GM is producing a new V8 and IF it’s scheduled to be released on time, I don’t know that I would want the first model year of it.

To each their own, but they can’t perfect the engines they have. I can’t imagine a brand new one would come out flawless

You can pretty much bet a fully redesigned engine would be a less cost engine, and I'd beware of the first year production too.

I'm waiting for build configurator also for '26 as I'd like to see that prior to ordering anything. If production starts first week in Sept you'd think they would get configurator up in next couple weeks. I'm going through the '26 dealer order guide to see if anything has changed over the '25s. Think I'll hold out for a '26 as manufacturer usually tweaks something or other hopefully to the better.

You can use the Fleet Order Guide to see all the changes for 2026 (which is relatively minimal).

The build configurator definitely makes it easier though plus will show pricing changes if any

This seems to be the 2026 thread. The price increases are a bit eye catching. For example, a Tahoe HC deluxe has super cruise added/included with the HC deluxe package, so last year we would see some cars for 88k, and now they're like 93k (with the standard rims). Some Chevys sitting at 98k. does anyone pause and say, hmmm...that's a lot! Why I believe this marketing works, is people are fixated on discount off msrp. Not out the door. All the upfits and add ons and even mfg increases, cannot fool the out the door price....at any rate see for yourself as 2026 is online now at chevy. The web page used to say tahoe starting at 59k, now it's 63k (2WD) btw HC Deluxe was $4800 list last year, now the first digit is a 7 lol
