I recently traded a 2024 Yukon for a 2025. I had/have the Brembo front brakes in both vehicles. In my 2024 the brakes were smooth, good pedal feel all the time. Like every other vehicle I’ve ever driven. In the 2025 I experience something different and I’m wondering if it’s normal or not for a 2025. I’ve currently got about 1500 miles on my 2025.

In my 2025, occasionally when I first put my foot onto the brake pedal and start to press it, it feels like pedal itself if shifting a bit and it makes a faint clicking sound. The pedal feel is then solid as I continue to apply the brakes for that cycle. It’s like something has slightly clicked into place. For a few minutes/pedal applications during the same drive, the pedal feel is solid and smooth. Eventually however it happens again during the same drive. This little surprise jitter feeling in the brake pedal is making me a bit crazy. I know the cause is not a shift or movement of the pedal cover, as I’ve tested this by driving without the pedal cover in place. It is a feeling that results from the brake pedal itself.

Any ideas appreciated. I’ll eventually ask the dealer to look at it when I go in for an oil change, but as I’ve learned from prior experience it is helpful if I can provide a bulletin number or similar to the service advisor when I check in. Thanks.

I have Brembo's and they don't do this. I will say mine are a hair spongier than I thought they would be. But they do surely stop well. Hopefully the dealer can replicate your problem and fix it. I always have a pretty good list for my dealer on its very first visit and most things have been taken care of to my satisfaction.

I had a similar issue on my 25 Tahoe Z71. Up under the dash at the brake pedal was a harness that was too close and that was causing the sound and feeling. Adjusted it up and out of the way and no more sound.

I have 2025 AT4 and have what I think is same thing. It is a clicking/knocking sound when I release break pedal. Not all the time but seems to do when I release the pedal more abruptly. The sound is coming from up under the dash where pedal rod connects. Was going to get it looked at during first oil change. Was this something you fixed or had dealer do? This is my 3rd Yukon in this body style and the others didn’t make this sound. The other 2 were Denalis but I don’t think that would make a difference.

Thanks for this information. I pulled down the felt covering the foot pedal area so that I could get a good look up there with a flashlight, but didn’t find anything rubbing or obstructing as I moved the brake pedal. I tried wiggling things anyway just in case, but found nothing lose that could move to interfere with the pedal movement. Search continues.

Curious as your experience is similar to but sort of the opposite of mine. My pedal noise and feel only occurs during brake application, never when release it. Do you feel anything through the pedal when you hear the clicking sound?
