2025 High Country w/HUD Auto Stop Eliminator Install Help

Has anyone installed the auto stop/start eliminator in a 2025 Tahoe High Country with the HUD? I have tried installing it via the side panel, but I can't get the clip to slide forward.

Haven't seen any tutorials pulling the dash to get at it with the HUD. Any tips or tricks appreciated!

Here is an instruction video for installing the start/stop eliminator from 4D Tech in a 2025 Tahoe/Suburban. Not sure if this covers the case with a HUD.

It was simpler to install it in my 2024!

It’s doable on a ‘25 but it is a pain. You can see the plug a little but you’re pretty much blind working on your fingertips. Doable, be patient.

Carbyte does not work on 2025 at this point as GM changed the security and it’s still hasn’t been hacked.

What a pain. Got it installed but ended up having to pull the whole dash and screens. Took about an hour start to finish. For anyone with the HUD I found a YouTube video detailing the procedure.

You will need a magnet tool to pull out the screws out. When putting them back in if you dont have magnetic sockets, use a bit of painters tape to hold in the screw, get it started and then pull up the socket. The painters tape should come with the socket and the screw will remain in the hole, then just tighten up the screw.

There ain't no way I would ever tear apart my dash like that. I'll poke that button every time I get in. Just invites rattles, frustration, lost screws and grief. I'll try to follow 4D tech's way. If that doesn't work or isn't easy. I'll find something simpler. I've poked that button for 4 years... I can do it 4 more if I need to......

Just installed mine yesterday using an inspection mirror, flashlight and a 6 inch long 90 degree pick tool.
Pro Tip: On the switch wiring harness connector, slide the red locking tab to the right (toward the passenger seat), depress the small black release tab (just left of the red tab), then move the green camlock bar in the same direction to eject the connector.
I only removed the dashboard side panel, which simply snaps in/out using a panel tool. Took a while to figure out which way to move the locking mechanisms on the connector, but then only 10 minutes to install. 2025 Tahoe High Country…the HUD has nothing to do with the installation.

It was much easier in the wife's 2023 Yukon Denali XL. That being said, anything he did in that video is not difficult. It will not produce any rattling or squeaking.

It will get you more comfortable working with snap panels. They are everywhere in that 2025 Tahoe.

It will get you more comfortable working with GMs new connectors.

Most important, the starter will last longer as will the battery.
