$3,900 2 weeks ago for a factory order, sticker $88,230 I think from memory. One thing to point out--our "deal" has zero dealer add-ons. There is a $477 doc fee, nothing more. There will be sales tax and registration. I just tried yesterday to get $4,400 from another dealer to factory order, as they solicited me, and person said they cannot do that number. My special ordered High Country just arrived at the dealer and going next week to look at it and finalize the purchase price with the Dealer. The 1st round discussion at time of order (no signed contract) was $4,500.00 off sticker, is this what others are seeing? The sticker is $98,700.00 and is loaded with just about everything. If I can get more off that would be great but since it is a costume build not sure if there is anymore left to get. Feed back is appreciated.
Edit—something clicked from what I’ve read here. Is a factory order linked to a customer, I thought so, like Corvette. Assumed so.
But OP said he’s negotiating the price after delivery to the dealer. I would have thought that was already done. So what if someone walks in and needs a car and says list is ok, I like that one it looks like it just arrived. Sell it to them?
The other day someone said only the dealer can see the status. I was told (erroneously) I can link it to my Chevy login.
Factory order seems a lot different than a bird in hand. I’ll search, are there stories of waiting for Godot or Tiny Tim?
Again, I’m asking does GM know what person ordered a vehicle, or is it simply a dealer modifying an allocation, and up to the dealer to sell it to whomever they want. Isn’t that Corvette….
