Does anyone know for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe LS, are the speakers in the very back behind the 3rd row seating supposed to work? I have already tried setting the fade all the way back and they still do not come on. I was wondering why they would even show there were speakers back there if they weren't part of the package. Let me know if anyone knows.

@jnt4225 - The 2021 Tahoe LS comes with a six-speaker setup as standard equipment. I am not sure where they are positioned in the LS. The other speaker options for the Tahoe are the 9- and 10-speaker Bose system. I am going to assume the interior "shell" of the Tahoe's are universal and those speaker positions in the back by the third row are for those higher model Bose systems.

On another note - you could always add two speakers back there at some point. If the cutouts are there, I wonder if it's safe to assume they are pre-wired as well?

I’m looking into adding these 3rd row speakers by powering them from the 2nd row. Does anyone know the ohm rating of the door speakers? Non Bose system. Trying to see if I could get the ohm rating in line to work. No markings on the factory speaker.

Disconnect the speaker, put an ohm meter across the terminals, multiply the result by 1.3 and you will be close to the rated nominal impedance. If you connect another speaker of the same impedance in parallel to that, you will be doubling the load on the amp (may not be wise).

See here for the gory details of speaker impedance:

Searched the P/N, came up with this image. Based on it, I’d say you have a 4ohm speaker. Possibilities to get your tests going would be get a replacement door speaker and a rear that fits, both 8 ohm, run in parallel. Be sure to get some high efficiency ones, as the amp is probably pretty weak, and this will tax it.
