I was reading the above review and Jalopknik apparently was given the following info:
“The Z71 suspension uses the same size shocks and spring rates as non-Z71 trim levels. To optimize off-road performance, they’re tuned to be softer at low speed inputs, which provides more cushion while driving over obstacles. Rebound dampening has also been tuned to increase control in high velocity motion; this prevents the vehicle from bottoming out in off-road settings.”
I have a 15 Suburban than I have modified with Bilstein 5100 all around. Front is now sitting 1-3/4" higher giving me a great level look I wanted.
My question is, can Anyone comment on how the stock z71 shocks/suspension feels compared to Bilstein or even the stock LT suspension (non mag/non self levelling/non Z71)?
Is it really tuned softer?
I drive on crappy road, hence my curiosity.
