First time poster, long time reader. I was a GM tech back in the 90's so my knowledge stops dead pretty much after 1995. I have a 2017 Yukon Denali 6.2L with very low miles, I don't drive it often. Last week due to many days sitting the battery gave out, I replaced it. Since that event however it's stuck in park. I've checked all of the fuses for the BCM/TCM, brake light switch, those are all working. The push-to-start sequence recognizes the brake being pushed and allows the truck to start normally.
So, I thought to myself, "shift interlock solenoid is not getting power." Well I couldn't find it. I believe though after looking around it's actually part of #84441497 the "Automatic Transmission Control Assembly" that interfaces between the shift level and the cable. The unit itself has an electrical connection and what appears to be a solenoid way up top. And, when you press the brake pedal the line to this device is energized with +12, however nothing happens.
Does anyone know the if this is the actual park interlock solenoid on these Yukons? If it helps this has the power tilt telescope column, which seems to makes hings and even bigger mess under there.
