Hi,

I am planning to install an aftermarket radio (Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX) and I would like to confirm if there is a way to retain the oem backup camera and the oem usb ports?

Thanks

Hi,

It turned out great. I was able to retain backup camera, climate controls, etc. However, since I have a SSV that doesn't wheel controls I couldn't add these but a civilian Suburban will. Concerning the usb ports I didn't look too much into it since I added flushmount usb, hdmi and aux ports. Moreover, I changed my center console to a Silverado jump seat so there might be a compatibility issue. I will try sending pictures tomorrow. The best feature of the radio are wireless android auto (works with samsung and pixel phones) and wireless apple carplay.

Great to hear, I've got a 2015 Yukon XL and the lack of android auto makes me very sad so I'm interesting in what you've done. I'd like the steering controls and the rear camera to work with the unit. Does this remove the little secret compartment?

Here are a few pictures. Yes it does remove the secret compartment but the center console is more than enough.
