I'm planning on installing a set of train horns on my 2015 Tahoe and wondering if anyone has made this upgrade yet and/or has advice on what to fit and how to fit it.

I helped a friend of mine install some on a 2012 Sierra Denali and it was a pretty big PITA.

I took my bumper off and installed Hornblaster's Shockers behind the grill. The compressor is where the 2nd battery would be under the hood. And lastly the tank is behind the driver side rear tire on some L brackets.

Thank you for the info!

I debated the under body install because of road debris but with your set up it keeps everything nice and clean and the installation area is all within a few feet rather than all the way to the rear with the traditional spare tire removal.

Do you pull up to train crossings and blow that thing while no train is coming to scare people?

I actually have a few times. Lol... for me to go anywhere I have to cross tracks right in town. I do it more in my truck though because it has Nathan k5la's on it.

Yes, please! Weather is starting to warm up and I can get this mod done. Good idea on the compressor location. What's the set up on the inside? Do you switch between the normal horn to the truck horn via relay or is it a separate switch?

Any recommendations? I've wanted to do this for a while and wanted to put some Kl5a Nathans on but considered one of the kits instead because its all included. I just wonder about the sound difference.

Any info on the compressor install would be very appreciated. I had shockers on my previous vehicle, and a mount for NATHAN K and P series horns. Of course that was on a pickup truck..............

It all depends on the horn. Some you can get away with 1)4 hose. Nathan's you need a larger hose and tank. I have a fire truck horn and I love it. What horn are you considering?

I will be installing my Nathan P3's (real train horns, not the plastic ones) on my 2007 Tahoe in the next couple of weeks. I've had this entire setup on 4 different vehicles ('08 Tundra, 06' white TBSS, '08 Denali pickup, and '06 blue TBSS), so the Tahoe will be the 5th. The easiest thing to do is remove the spare tire and all the associated hardware. With that stuff gone, there is plenty of real estate to mount your hardware.

My setup are the horns (Nathan P3), a 5 gallon Hornblasters 8 port tank, Vaair compressor, and a SMC nickel plated valve. All of this stuff fits with no issue with the spare removed on all 4 previous vehicles. I use 18ga angle iron to help support the larger stuff, usually routing it through and/or bolting it to existing chassis points that are drilled by the factory or by me. Mind you, the zip ties you see in my photo are not what support the hardware, they are took take a little shake or play out of the horns and other pieces to keep them from moving around too much.

Here is a video of the Nathan's in action on my Denali.
