2014 Tahoe PPV - Parking brake pedal hard to release

So I'm having a heck of a time with my 2014 Tahoe PPV parking brake. I can set the pedal and it works fine but when it comes time to release it, no matter what I try, I have to push it all the way to the floor with great force before it will release. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Try just a quick down and let up. It has a ratchet mechanism that works that way. You shouldn't have to push it to the floor to release it and unnecessary stretch the cable out.
