Update:

After I took mine back to dealer to have the new mic installed, along with them re-installing the software and pairing the phone; mine has been flawless so far(knocking on wood). It now works as it should. According to the few people I have talked with, they can hear me as if I'm sitting next to them. I'm not sure if it was the mic, software or the whole combination of things; but as of now I'm a happy camper. And I have found a new dealer that I will continue doing business with.

Bluetooth issues also 2013 Tahoe

I also have noticed that. Nobody can understand me in our 2013 Tahoe windows up and sunroof closed . Very Very frustrating. Is this fixable or Chevy issue and they are not going to do anything about it because the new and improved Tahoes are coming out?????:flame:

I am reading up a little on the different problems with the bluetooth. My issue is when I call my wife in our Tahoe, everything I say echos. Now, I have a 07 Tahoe and took the VCIM off a 2011 Silverado. It connects and works, its just the echoing. I called 2 dealers and even though it is the stock bluetooth, they said since the vehicle didn't come with bluetooth, I'm S.O.L...

I had the same problem with my 2012 yukon denali. In the first few months, I had it back at dealer 3 separate times. It still isnt right. I have had the actual module and mic changed. From what I understand, they are using a new mic, which is what they problem is. My boss has the same exact vehicle, but a 2011 and phone calls are very clear and crisp on the other end. Terribly frustrating for a $60,000 vehicle to say the least!!!

I went to a Hendricks Chevrolet Dealer that is local to me but not where I bought vehicle from. Please see my post above for more detailed info on what they did.

Starting with the 2012 model year, GM changed things in the blue-tooth systems they use. I was not told exactly what changes were made but the problems started showing up on 2013 models. GM is aware of the issues and is handling them on an individual case basis since it only effects some vehicles. My neighbor across the street has a 2013 and so far has had no issues.

I hope his helps.

Hi amyrod29,

I can certainly understand your frustration with this concern being unresolved. My apologies to hear you are having trouble with the bluetooth in your 2012 GMC Yukon. I'm happy to investigate this further and reach out to your dealership on your behalf or document this concern in our system. If this interests you please send us a PM with your contact information, last 8-digits of your VIN, current mileage and the name of your dealership. We look forward to hearing from you.

I have been experiencing this same problem for almost a year now. My truck has been at the dealer 3 different times. This last time which was 1 week ago the service writer lied saying they each (him, tech & service mgr) test drove the vehicle on and off the freeway and it's working flawlessly. Unfortunately after 3 days of the car sitting in the dealer the car had not 1 mile put on it. Leads me to believe there is no fix for this? Maybe they should check out the lemon law. It's the law to use hands free while driving. Don't they know some peoples jobs require being on the phone all day while driving.

Has GM sponsored a fix for this known issue? I have a 2013 Chevy Tahoe and I've experienced this very issue since purchasing my SUV in January 2014. I hardly ever attempt to use the bluetooth anymore for everyone I talk to says it sounds like I'm underwater. I too contacted the Infotainment center and they we're unable to fix with their troubleshooting steps. I'm taking my Tahoe to the dealer this Thursday and would really like this issue resolved. Very frustrated!

Does GM own this problem of garbled voice on there Bluetooth systems? I've had on for a year now and they want to start by just replacing the microphone also. they should have enough data on this problem that they should have a replacement kit.
if there is a GM customer care monitoring this please reply.

Has this issue been resolved by GM? I'd like to get my 2013 Suburban's hands free system working, I'm currently using a headset because of the voice quality reported by listeners. If it's something that GM covers, that's great. Otherwise, I'm contemplating just ripping out the existing "infotainment" system and replacing it with something that wasn't developed by Luddites.

ZorroOscuro, No they have not solved the Garbled Voice Problem. They did replace the microphone Twice, even changed it to a different year, to no avail. They have a hardware problem thats not dealing with the road noise cancelation.
I wish GM would assign someone to figure this out. Last time my truck was in for a WEEK , no better now than it was before. I'll post if they find a fix or solution to their problem.

Eddie, I'm not a regular user. don't have 10 posts yet , so I'll send a PM. when I can. The Infotainment group is just checking on the dealer. We need someone to push Engineering into the fray. The SRN is 8-2157149096 . Any help you can provide I would be greatful .
Thx

Recently purchased a 2013 Tahoe LTZ for my wife and have experienced the same "garbled" results when she uses her hands-free. I would have to chime in with the previous posts to say that it's disappointing that the vehicle is now 3 years old, cost well in excess of $60K, and it doesn't appear that there has been a solution yet.

I'll keep following the trail, and hopefully adding as I try to get answers too.

i would look into changing the onstar vcim module as that controls the bluetooth feature.

Add me to the list of people with the same problem. Everyone I speak with using BT says I sound like I'm underwater. Is it possible this could have something to do with the Onstar module. I've only owned my 2014 Yukon for about 6 months. When I first used the BT right after buying the Yukon, it worked fine. A moth or so later, I spoke with Onstar via their system to cancel the service from the previous owner. Since then, it has been messed up with this underwater garbled sound. BTW: phone is Samsung Note4

Still same problem. Changed microphone 3 times now. Engineer thinks microphone is the problem. I still think it has to do with the noise cancelation software. It works perfect until the car moves. Seems to be sensitive to different voice types or volume also. I can use a 50.00 Jawbone headset sounds perfect. I'm going to turn on OnStar for a trip and test the voice quality with there cell phone. Anybody have any other ideas???
