Hello,

I have 2 2005 Yukons and 1 2011 Yukon and what i've noticed is the radio within the 11 is less "encompassing". I mean the bass is very lack luster. I don't think it has anything to do with faulty speakers or any amp issues because the previous owner was "a little old lady". (but stranger things have happened) In any case, it was extremely evident when I took it to the shop and had a 2020 loaner which, OMG, if you haven't driven a 2015+, they drive awesome! In any case, my question is, is this the quality of radio these trucks come with? I noticed it doesn't have an actual external antenna and thus, I get really bad reception. Is there an easy fix without having to gut the whole bose set up?

Yep. Funny note, "rear" setting is best in the 05 but "driver" is best in 11. :(

Yes that is how they sound, the bass speaker is right next to the driver under the center console which is why it sounds best with the fade set more to the front.
I yanked that archaic crap out and put in a modern stereo, you could get away with just adding a rear subwoofer a competent stereo shop could add the option and it would sound much much better

Is the sub in the 2005 located in the console or the drivers side cargo area?

I know the cargo area location uses an 8" while the console uses a 6".

I think the sub for the 05 is in the center console but I've never looked.

Double, are you referring to a powered sub and do they "tie" that in bridged from the rear left and right?
