I have a 2008 Tahoe and I am going to be replacing the engine block to body (firewall) ground strap (with 1/0 cable) and I was wondering if anyone has any good tips/tricks for getting at the bolt on the back of the block? Or maybe a different place on the motor I could attach the new cable to. Because of the type of ring connector on the block side (has a goofy tab on it to prob prevent it from spinning when you tighten it) and I cant get a wrench on it at all and there is zero room to get a ratchet and socket on it. Just looking for some ideas or something. Thanks.

You are free to use any threaded bolt hole in either the cylinder head or the block for your purpose. The block connection would be best but the heads are well grounded also. Is there a reason you need to upgrade to 1.0 cable? Millions of these trucks run fine with a good OEM strap? If yours is bad maybe just replace it in the factory spot?

I added a heavy cable ground to one truck that had ground issues, went from the block down by the starter/bell housing to the frame and frame to the body but did it out of sight under the car. I know that car is grounded perfectly but it still had issues in the electrical I had to chase down.
